“My soul sings when I see Rio de Janeiro……” these famous verses describe the feeling that the “cidade maravilhosa” strikes in everyone, whether locals or not. It is impossible to remain indifferent to this sunny city, blessed by the Christ Redeemer. The reputation of being one of the hottest city is true in every way. The sun seems to be present in Rio’s beaches, maybe this bohemian vibe is the reason why Rio seems to live an eternal summer.

But not everything is perfect, every year the temperature are getting higher and higher. In the bright side, the city offers several parks, forests, gardens, markets and much more. So escaping the heat is just one possibility. On days when the mercury exceeds 40° degrees, you will not need to stay at home with the air conditioning on. Or fry in the burning sands of Rio’s beaches. You can enjoy the natural freshness of being in a forest swimming in a waterfall. How does it sound?

1. Tijuca National Forest

For those who like to be in touch with nature, the Tijuca National Forest offers marked trails what can eliminate the need for a guide. This unmissable tour can end with a nice waterfall bath. Tijuca’s forest is located in the heart of the city, is claimed to be the largest urban forest in the world, with paved streets in many points. So if you want to practice downhill through the forest just take your skateboard, the less radical can drive around through the forest road.

You also will find in the park one of the most visited tourist hot spots in the city, the Chinese View. A viewpoint where you can see the perfect landscape of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Urca and the most famous beaches of Rio.

2. The botanical garden

The botanical garden is also a fascinating place to go. Normal visiting hours are Mondays from 12 pm to 5 pm and from Tuesday to Sunday at 8am to 5pm. The admission coast R$6.00, which also includes visiting the Environmental Museum. Besides finding pure and refreshing air in the middle of a big city, the historical character of this immense garden makes it even more interesting. After all it was inaugurated by the Portuguese royal family in June of 1808.

The huge royal palms perfect planted to garnish the botanical paths had become a trademark of the Rio herbarium. The institution also have artistic monuments and the most complete library of the country specializing in botany. As if this were not enough, a beautiful orchids nursery consists of more than 3000 specimens of 600 different species, make up the largest collection of the herbarium of the country.

3. Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon

On the banks of the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you can find a leisure area with a bike path, jogging track, playground, sports courts and paddle boats. If you prefer a more gastronomic tour, the Lagoon is known for the variety of street food around, you can find since pamonha (typical brazilian dish) to Japanese food which can be enjoyed with live music at night.

4. Horto Florestal

The city also has the Horto Florestal which is an area of seedling production, especially of endangered species, with emphasis on the native plants of the Atlantic Forest. In addition to all this, the famous waterfalls of the Garden are one good option to avoid crowded beaches.

O que você faz para encontrar a paz interior?

Todo mundo gostaria de ter uma pausa na conversa sem fim com sua própria mente. Para algumas pessoas a meditação é a resposta, já outras preferem fazer longas caminhadas, algumas praticam esportes apaixonadamente ou simplesmente fazem amor…

Cada um tem a sua maneira de acalmar os anseios da alma e apreciar a verdadeira paz interior.

No meu caso, viajar sempre foi o meu jeito de encontrar a paz, como o famoso poeta disse uma vez, “existir é viajar” e podemos facilmente dizer que viajar é existir.

Na minha última aventura eu encontrei uma maneira totalmente nova de alcançar a paz interior, que eu gostaria de compartilhar com os meus queridos amigos. É uma espécie de paz  que você não consegue encontrar sozinho, mas para o qual você realmente precisa estar entre os braços calorosos de um completo estranho ou de um velho amigo. Não importa qual dos dois, desde que você esteja disposto a se entregar, deixar a sua intuição guiá-lo lentamente ao ritmo de uma nação inteira, meditando juntos dois a dois.

Feche seus olhos, abrace seu parceiro e se deixe levar! Sorria enquanto o papel masculino se inverte lentamente para o feminino e vice-versa. Mova-se devagar no começo até que vocês encontrem juntos o ritmo, deixe a poesia deslizar com seus pés, um após o outro na pista de dança. Meditar nunca foi tão fácil, caminhar juntos nunca foi tão divertido, a paixão nunca foi tão abundante e fazer amor nunca foi tão poético quanto bailar Tango!

Sim. Bem-vindo à Argentina, viajante. Feche os olhos, descanse sua mente e alma por alguns minutos ou, pelo menos, até ouvir o professor dizer – “Cambio de pareja”, e, em seguida, respire profundamente antes de começar a próxima música com um parceiro completamente novo. Relaxe e deixe-se ir mais uma vez permitindo que uma nova história de paixão aconteça em seus braços.

Não se preocupe em decorar os passos, simplesmente deslize seus pés juntos com os do seu parceiro em uma intuitiva união de almas, isso é o tango. Olhe diretamente nos olhos do seu parceiro, independente de quem seja, não tenha medo da intimidade que vai acontecer de forma tão natural, enquanto você dança o ritmo favorito da Argentina.

Minha amiga me apresentou o tango quando estava no Rio de Janeiro e eu nunca vou esquece-la por isso. Seguindo seus passos acabei em La Plata Buenos Aires, onde estudantes de toda a Argentina gastam o seu tempo livre e não necessariamente o seu dinheiro, apaixonadamente em um tango após o outro. E logo você descobre que é possível dançar todos os dias, em um local diferente, e cada local tem um professor diferente, e cada professor tem um estilo diferente e todos os estilos tem o seu público.

Estudantes mudam de professores e de localidade para enriquecer seu tango, e isso vai criando novas formas mais requintadas nesse estilo de dança. Um aceno de cabeça, um sorriso com uma contribuição monetária simbólica no final da classe é tudo o que você precisa fazer para entender o conceito de “a la gorra”. Uma maneira prática para os professores ganharem seu pão.

Não se surpreenda se durante os intervalos as conversas se tornarem longas e intelectuais. Pois cada bailarino tem algo novo para compartilhar e contribuir, e eles fazem incentivados pelos professores, que assistem em silêncio, enquanto as pessoas evoluem a conversa e, assim, todo mundo colabora, criando juntos um profundo significado do que é o Tango.

Esteja preparado para conhecer pessoas e fazer amigos e amantes na pista de dança, pois você se esquece do si mesmo para que com seu parceiro se tornem uma só pessoa.
Surpreenda-se ao perceber que é tudo sobre compartilhar experiências e deixar a paixão decolar, em horas deliciosas que parecem passar voando, nos abraços dessa singular cultural argentina.

Aproveite a espontaneidade dos casais que entram e saem dos abraços uns dos outros, enquanto os olhos pensativos do professor observam das linhas laterais, como se ele fosse um mestre zen observando os monges em sua oração matinal.

“Cambio de rol” a professora diz. Mude os papéis. Os homens não são os condutores nessa dança,  não há papel de homem ou mulher. porque eles estão conectados, esqueça o seu ego masculino de ser o parceiro principal ou de tomar a iniciativa, uma mulher audaciosamente pode levar outra ou mesmo um homem em seus braços.

Vá devagar ou rápido, ou mais rápido enquanto a “La Cumparsita” ensina a criar o seu próprio ritmo. E você só precisa de um gesto para que o seu parceiro te siga. Um aceno de queixo ou um toque no ombro muda a direção ou inicia um movimento mais elaborado.

impressionante a partir de qualquer perspectiva. Ouça o som de “El Choclo“, para você lentamente perceber que o tango pode ser dançado com quase qualquer música que traga uma sensação de paz interior e que estará com você para sempre mesmo quando seguimos em frente para o próximo destino.

My first time was in Chile. I was inside a car, I don’t remember the volcano’s name, it all happened so quickly. I saw the perfect form, all its voluptuousness and I fell in love…….

Yes, I found out that I have a great appreciation for mountains with a conical shape that spit fire (even though some don’t spit fire anymore).

Brazil is located in the middle of a tectonic plate that’s why it doesn’t have many volcanoes (which are “born” at the end of the plates) and a few that existed here have been extinct a long time ago.

But don’t worry! If you want to visit one we are very close to several. The Caribbean Plate, where all the countries of Central America are located, offers great opportunities.

However, do not think that only those that still have eruptions are more fun. There is a lot to see and do around these spectacularly shaped mountains:

You can pull up a chair, order a nice cup of coffee and relax enjoying the wonderful view in the streets of  Antigua Guatemala…

You can go on a beautiful trek around the Costa Rican hills;

You can ride your bike through the Chilean roads to the volcano;

…….and even let your body float in the Nicaraguan waters just near by one.

Why not  toast a delicious marshmallow over 1000 degrees Celsius magma?

No matter where…… no matter how. The most important thing is the joy of being in touch with this marvel of Mother Nature.
